Greetings,

As we embark upon our 7th season, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting our website and for your continuous support of our CAFÉ (Cultural Arts for Everyone) Series.  This season looks to be one of our most exciting yet with performances by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Savion Glover, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Cook, Dixon & Young, Hugh Masekela  African Chissa All-Stars & Nuttin’ But Stringz, Spirit of Uganda, Nancy Wilson and much more.
Each year we work tirelessly to enhance the quality of life in our community by presenting an exciting season of dance, music and theatre. CDFM incorporates lecture/demonstrations for students as well as a variety of affordable outreach activities. No other performance series in Memphis has reached audiences that are as culturally, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse as ours. In other words, we are tapping some of the underserved sections of this area. Our main goal is to bring more culturally diverse performances to Memphis for the benefit of school-aged children and their families.  Ticket sales only provide 60 % of the revenue needed to fund programming expenses. Therefore, we need community and corporate support to ensure that we can continue our mission of exposing students and their families to the work of great artists.

As a final thought, CDFM cannot present these important performances without the continuing generosity of community members and corporate partners.  Your support will assist CDFM with furthering our mission of making the arts accessible to the community, especially the youth, who would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience cultural events featuring internationally renown artists. No gift is too small! A gift of $100 could sponsor the admission of twenty students at a matinee. These rare opportunities to connect with the artists create a rich collection of inspiring experiences of educational, pleasurable, and wholesome entertainment. So please consider making a donation to the arts. Thanks in advance for your support of the arts and Cultural Development Foundation of Memphis.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Edwards
Founder & Executive Director
